About me
My name is Marcin Banaszek, and I'm a Product Designer from Poland. In my 20+ years career in web and app design, I have worked as a Product Designer for over a decade. I work primarily on big, complicated, and advanced projects, requiring a lot of experience, mainly eCommerce and Fintech. I work with a large group of developers, business analytics, testers, marketing team, and business representatives on some projects. I'm sarcastic to the bone, and it's not easy to offend me. I get along quickly with all people, but I'm allergic to laziness and stupidity.
I lived in Dublin, Ireland, where I worked in NetAffinity, the biggest online hotel marketing agency. I was involved in creating a new hotel booking system, with many additional features, like cross-selling and up-selling, ie. restaurants bookings, golf tee bookings, and many more.
After eight years, I came back home to my family town Olsztyn, where I worked successfully as a product designer and web designer freelancer for clients worldwide. 2 years later, I got hired. I still work for one of the biggest software houses in Poland - Speednet, which employs over 170 employees and contractors.
In my free time, I sail on local lakes around my city, play golf on the nearby course, and cycle my mountain bike through the forest in my free time. I love electronic music, primarily melodic techno and progressive house, and I watch many movies and TV series. I'm sarcastic to the bone, and it's not easy to offend me. I get along quickly with all people, but I'm allergic to laziness and stupidity.
I'm 40+ years old. I have a beautiful, brave, super-smart wife and an amazing, very talented teenage daughter; I'm very proud of her. I hope she will follow in my footsteps because I think a career as a designer is a great future.
